Tips for a Good Retreat

 

  • Avoid dehydration. Drink plenty of water during the day. Keep enough bottled drinking water in your hotel room during the camp.
  • Place a wet towel on your heater for increased humidity or use a humidifier.
  • Set your email  ‘Away message‘ on.
  • Stay away from distractions like news, emails etc.
  • Set clear goals for each day and for the whole retreat.
  • Regularly go outside and get fresh air.
  • Meet new people, make new friends and listen to their stories.
  • Play and spend more time with the kids.
  • Keep a daily journal.
  • Spend time alone early in the morning and listen to your heart and mind.
  • Volunteer to serve in the kitchen area.
  • Each day share three things to be thankful during the retreat with your family and friends.
  • Pray for your friends and for your family.
  • Go out and watch the sun rise.
  • In order to have more effective retreat, try to eat and sleep less than usual.
